Shane Black's reboot / sequel / sidequel / nobody knows of Predator is shaping up pretty nicely and, so far, everything we've heard has been positive.

Black and his co-writer Fred Dekker submitted their script to Fox a few weeks back and the word around the campfire is that Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently in talks to possibly return. As well as that, it's understood that Fox has given Black a fairly substantial budget to do it right and that the film will definitely receive an R-rating, meaning plenty of cursing and plenty of violent gunplay.

Casting news, however, has been quite light - until now that is. Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, has been in the news more lately due to his financial... eh.. difficulties, you could say? However, in a recent podcast interview on SiriusXM's Shade 45, Jackson let slip that he's now been cast in The Predator.

Jackson didn't go into specifics about who he's playing or what the film is about, but it's an interesting choice to say the least. Although Jackson is a pretty terrible actor, the original Predator had a few non-actors in there as well. Jesse 'The Body' Ventura, for example, was a professional wrestler when he starred in Predator whilst Sonny Landham, who played Billy, started off as a porno actor. Really. So, the idea of a rapper starring in The Predator is, in our mind, a nice little callback to the somewhat odd casting of the original.

The Predator is slated for a release date of March 2nd, 2018.
