Our good friends (by friends we mean we steal liberally from them) at Variety are reporting that a 300 sequel is set to go with comic creator Frank Miller scripting and the original helmer Zach Synder returning to direct.  Studio topper Thomas Tull told the trade "We want to be certain that the story originates with Frank and be as compelling as the first. The vision of Frank Miller's universe that Zack Snyder brought to the screen in '300' is unlike anything ever seen before". It would more than likely be a prequel if they’re looking for any of the main cast to don the codpieces again, with them having bought the farm at the end of the last one an’ all. Similar problems occurred with other box-office hits I Am Legend and Gladiator, as the lead dying made a sequel difficult to fully realise.
