Multiple Oscar and BAFTA award-winning costume designer Sandy Powell is coming to Dublin thanks to Warner Bros. Creative Talent in support of the Audi Dublin International Film Festival.

Powell has won Academy awards for her work on The Young Victoria, The Aviator and Shakespeare in Love, and received Oscar nominations for Carol, Cinderella, Hugo, The Tempest, Gangs of New York and The Wings of the Dove among others.

The event includes a public interview and workshop and will be hosted by fellow award-winning costume designer Eimer Ní Mhaoldomhnaigh (Becoming Jane, Love & Friendship, The Rhythm Section). It takes place at The Ballroom at the Powerscourt Town Centre on Saturday 3rd March from 12pm.

Grainne Humphreys, Festival Director of the Audi Dublin International Film Festival, said: “I became an infatuated fan of Sandy Powell's work since I saw the stunning costumes she created for Tilda Swinton in Sally Potter's Orlando, followed by Shakespeare in Love, The Aviator, Velvet Goldmine, Carol and of course her dynamic partnership with Neil Jordan which included The Crying Game, Michael Collins and The Butcher Boy.

“Equally at home with both period and contemporary setting, it’s an honour to welcome this three time Oscar winner to ADIFF 2018. I am delighted that Sandy will join us in Dublin to present two of her newest films Wonderstruck and How to Talk to Girls at Parties.”
