The Roland Emmerich directed blockbuster 2012 has just padded out its cast as the very gorgeous and capable Amanda Peet (the badly missed Studio 60) has signed up, and will star opposite everyone’s favourite everyman John Cusack in the apocalyptic thriller. Oliver Platt, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton and Danny Glover will also takes roles in the film that starts rolling next month for a tent-pole launch next summer. Fantastic cast, but Emmerich annoyed us immensely with the shite 10,000BC; we forgive him though, ‘cause generally he quite the decent blockbuster helmer (except for Godzilla, Stargate, The Patriot and eh, Independence Day).
