Judging by the Red Carpet Arrivals, last night's NME Awards at London's Brixton Academy was a suitably scruffy affair. The big story of the night was Blur's surprise performance which saw Graham Coxon and Damon Albarn onstage together for the first time in nigh a decade. In other not so exciting reunification news - Pete Doherty and Carl Barat also met up. Grace Jones sent event organisers into a spin by demanding she was sat at the centre table with The Killers (she wanted to "discuss make up tips with Brandon"); Peaches bumped into her ex-fellah Faris Badwin (probably in a repeatedly rhythmic fashion); Nicola and Sarah from Girls Aloud turned up for some reason; Noel Fielding arrived looking like my Aunty Margaret; Godlike Genius recipient Robert (HOW does he still have his own hair?!) Smith mumbled: "Even the bands backstage all like us", while Tom Clarke from The Enemy tellingly said: "It's nice not being nominated 'coz there's no pressure. We're just gonna have a laugh and get p***ed." Man, he's really going to love next year so when he's enjoying the awards from the comfort of his couch.
