It was that or 'Boreanaz Gets Boned'. Or simply, 'Boneanaz'.

Moving on; star of Bones and Angel, David Boreanaz did the noble thing and came clean about cheating on his wife, because he didn't want to fork over money to keep his conquest quiet. Honourable. Kind of like Letterman.

David revealed to People magazine: "Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities. I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible." Discussing his decision to speak out, he explained a former, unspecified, mistress had allegedly threatened to make details of their relationship public. "I was associated with a woman who I was involved with and had a relationship with," the 40-year-old actor stated. "She asked for money. I felt as though I was being blackmailed or there was some sort of extortion."

Yes, that's how these things work: Married, rich, usually famous male has intercourse with souless desperate. He gets his fragile ego instantly gratified, she sells the story to the press. Everyone's happy. Oh, sorry, did you think she was in love with you, or something?! Naaaaaaw *playfully punches arm*

Anyway, it gets messier. E! News reports: "'Marty Singer (David's attorney) attempted to contact a woman who had a romantic relationship with David Boreanaz. She then retained me,' Gloria 'I officially deal with scorned mistresses' Allred says in a statement. 'I then contacted Mr. Singer on her behalf to find why Mr. Singer was calling her. We discussed the possible resolution of my client's legal claims against Mr. Boreanaz by mediation. My client has not told her story to the press, but now that Mr. Boreanaz is attacking her, she has decided to tell the story of their relationship, so that the truth will come out.' Allred then drops any pretense of politeness: 'This baseless attack by David Boreanaz and his highly paid legal mouth piece in an apparent effort to divert attention from his client's extramarital infidelity will not succeed. If they think that I or my client will be intimidated they are wrong.' Singer's not having any of it, however: 'On April 23, the woman left a very threatening message that she was going to the media, that my client had not given her enough money,' he retorts. 'It is true I did leave a message for the woman because of the extortionist threat she left with my client. On Monday, I received a call from Gloria Allred and she told me the woman was looking to get paid at least six figures'."

The New York Post adds: "When news broke that Allred was representing a woman who wanted 'six figures' in return for her silence about her affair with Boreanaz, several web sites reported the woman was Rachel Uchitel, the Tiger Woods mistress who is repped by Allred. Uchitel allegedly had an affair with Boreanaz before she hooked up with Tiger. But Boreanaz's lawyer Marty Singer told Page Six yesterday: 'Rachel Uchitel is not involved in this extortion. It was a different woman'."

No, not this extortion, Rachel was just involved with that other wee extortion.

Oh, and David's wife is sticking by him.
