Naaaw. Elisabetta Canalis thinks she's getting married. She could very well get married at some stage in the future, but probably not to her current fellah.
George Clooney's 32-year-old Italian model/presenter girlfriend has revealed that despite her beau's aversion to marriage, she will be married one day. Clooney, continuing to wear his 50 years well, has a reputation for being one of the least likely men to ever settle down in Hollywood, but his girlfriend of two-years told Italian magazine, Chi, that one way or another, she will be a bride:
"I am a firm believer in marriage, in the future I will be married, but for the time being I am happy as I am..." That's good, George, some breathing room. Also, you know what she said about not being keen on kids, well, your future mother-in-law has other plans: "My maternal instinct has not kicked in yet. My mother says when it does, it will be like a lightening bolt."
This doesn't bode too well either; 32-year-old admitted that everyone's preoccupation with Clooney's bachelor lifestyle sometimes gets her down: "Whenever I see my picture in a magazine I know what is being written. They all say that I spend my time organising parties and that my boyfriend does not want to marry me and be with me anymore. My boyfriend has not given an interview on his private life since 1999 - everything that you read is just a rehash of stuff that has been written in the past."
... or a rehash of stuff George said a few months back, like on Piers Morgan's TV show. Digital Spy reports: "Clooney appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight on Friday (January 21st 2011) with his father Nick Clooney, who told Morgan that he hoped his son would one day marry Canalis. However, Clooney swiftly responded to his father's comments by denying that marriage was a possibility at the moment. 'I hate to blow your whole news story, but I was married, so I have given it a shot,' Clooney clarified, claiming that he didn't see himself remarrying in the future. Clooney was married to No Strings Attached actress Talia Balsam between 1989 and 1993."
I wonder where George plans to get his next young model/TVpresenter from? England and Italy have already been done, so, Germany? Ooooh, Portugal maybe. Or Fraaaance, or....
