Apparently it all started to go south when Solange started roaring at designer Rachel Roy before the elevator mele. According to Us Magazine, it was down to Beyonce to quietly usher her sister away from that situation as well. In short, Solange had a head on her before she event went near that lift.

What followed is said lift incident...

If you are unable to view the video, it shows Solange cornering Jay Z, before unleashing a flurry of punches and high kicks. Jay Z doesn't raise a hand, apart from grabbing a foot at one point. Beyonce stands by quietly, only intervening once, while the bodyguard presses the emergency stop button for fear Solange and Jay Z would spill out of the lift, Tasmanian Devil stylee, before a load of waiting photographers.

They managed to get themselves together enough to venture to their waiting cars. Jay Z was going to follow Solange into one vehicle, but then wisely started texting for another car to magically appear from somewhere. One can only assume the driver of the car the sisters clambered into is being inundated with offers to spill his beans.

The Standard Hotel have since released a statement regarding their security breach on the night in question, while the internet have been memeing it up a storm. Check out our favourites here...
