Russell Crowe has decided to auction off some of his prized possessions in what seems to be a sort of cleansing ritual post-divorce. Although it's been six years since he separated from his wife Danielle Spencer, their divorce was only finalised last year.
Good Morning Britain decided to do a live segment today with the Aussie actor who seemed positively giddy at the prospect of selling on so much of his stuff, which range from art pieces to move memorabilia including fake horses, a violin and a jock strap (from the movie Cinderella Man).
Billed The Art of Divorce, the auction will take place in Sydney this weekend on April 7th (same date as his birthday and wedding anniversary) and will have 227 personal items on sale which are expected to fetch over a million dollars.
"I'm a collector so the things that I've bought I've bought with a passionate eye, you know? It hasn't just been random," Crowe said previously of the auction.
"It's definitely a cathartic experience, you know, going through this. But actually, curating the collection has been really joyful," he said.
Crowe said his ex-wife Danielle had also put items into the auction: "We didn't just start doing this a couple of weeks ago, we've been doing it for 12 months."
