In the words of a slight variation of that Mean Girls line, ‘Stop trying to make Friends (the movie) happen, it’s not going to happen.’

Another fake, fan-made trailer for ‘Friends the Movie’ has been doing the rounds (in spite of the cast having said over and over that there won’t be a reboot of the series and there won’t be a movie).

Still, the trailer has managed to rack up something like 40 million views in a week, so clearly, even if the cast don’t want it, the fans do:

Lisa Kudrow appeared on Conan this week and when asked about the new trailer, she said: “Courteney [Cox], actually, is the one who said, ‘Did you see that trailer? What do we do?’ Like, nothing, that’s a clip!”

She continued: “I don’t know what to make of it. It’s just sort of these weird clips from things that clearly have nothing to do with Friends.

“I mean, something should be done. I don’t know what. They’re rebooting everything. But I don’t know -- how does that work with Friends though? That was about people in their 20s, 30s. The show isn’t about people in their 40s, 50s, and if we have the same problems, that’s just sad.”

Friends was recently added to Netflix so that could easily be one of the sources for this renewed interest in the show. Or maybe the love for it is eternal and will never die.
