"The stigma surrounding mental health means that children don't get the help they so badly need. This needs to change." Speaking as someone who grew up in quite a fraught household at times, which has lead to dealing with anxiety for most of my adult life, talking about these things in the open lets people know they're not alone.

Speaking on behalf of Place2Be, the Duchess says: "Both William and I have seen that many young people are struggling to cope with the impact of bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown and more. Without support, the effects of these challenges can be traumatic, leading to serious issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and self harm."

Surprisingly, this is only the UK's first Children's Mental Health Week. More of this kind of thing over this side of the pond, please... Ireland is screaming out for it.
