Ed Sheeran's quest to become the soundest person on the planet (you hear, Harry?) ratcheted up a gear over the weekend after he visited a leukemia patient in hospital, to have the bants and wish her a happy birthday. 

The singer popped in to see Jess Wright (not to be confused with Mark Wright's sister) in hospital, where she was celebrating her 20th birthday, along with her friends. Jess had bought tickets to his concert in New Zealand, but was unable to make it as she was diagnosed with leukemia two weeks later.

This motivated her friends required to start a social meedja campaign to get the singer to attend her birthday celebrations. And they succeeded. He hung around for over half an hour to have the chats, take selfies, and generally make Jess's birthday one to remember for all the right reasons.
