The absolute clusterf*ck surrounding Fyre Festival has now reached such a point for organisers Billy McFarland and Ja Rule that, according to Variety, they're now attempting to employ the services of a crisis management agency.
Variety's report states that McFarland's looking to bring on FTI Consulting to help weather the storm surrounding Fyre Festival. That storm, by the way, isn't going away - if anything, it's getting bigger.
This week saw another class-action lawsuit brought against the beleaguered festival, which was promoted by influencers on Instagram and celebrity models such as Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and others.
This brings the total to six class-action lawsuits against Fyre, and legal experts say it's only a matter of time before the FBI gets involved with a consumer fraud investigation. Meanwhile, the few poor souls who remained on as staff were told last Friday that they wouldn't be paid "in the short term," and that a preservation notice was now being held on any files relating to the festival owing to the lawsuits pending against them.
Couple that with the leaked advertising material that got out a couple of weeks which sounded like the most cheesy marketingspeak you've heard of and this all just feels like the most wonderfully tasting schadenfreude. If you don't know what that is, look it up.
So, to sum up, Fyre Festival is on fire, they're trying to hire a crisis management agency and stiffing the people who worked for them, and Ja Rule still claims that the festival isn't a scam.
