TV and radio presenter Richard Bacon is in a serious condition in hospital after being placed in a medically-induced coma.
The 42-year-old former 'Blue Peter', 'The Big Breakfast' and 'Top of the Pops' presenter, who has been working in America in recent years, took ill on a flight to Britain from the US last week and it's revealed he is suffering from pneumonia.
Up until now, he had kept fans updated on his condition via Twitter, with one tweet reading "Thank god I got ill in Britain (actually on the way to Britain, was taken off the plane in a wheelchair). Fuck all the ideology driven politicians who’ve messed up America’s healthcare system. Viva the NHS. Happy 70th."

However, his sister revealed that his condition had deteriorated and he had been in an induced coma since last Thursday, following a tracheotomy to help him breathe.
A number of his colleagues have sent 'Get well soon' messages to him on social media...
Thoughts are with Richard Bacon’s family. Awful to see this. Let’s hope he’s going to be ok.

So saddened by the news that broadcaster Richard Bacon is fighting for his life and in a coma. Thoughts are of course with his friends and family at what must be a very difficult time.
