Still in hospital following his car accident last week, George Michael faces police questioning over the incident after questions have arisen about how easy it would be to fall out of a moving vehicle, particularly a Range Rover like the one Michael was traveling in.
The 49-year-old singer is still being kept under medical supervision in a specialist trauma centre in London after sustaining head injuries when he fell out of the passenger side of a Range Rover on the busy M1 motorway in the UK last Thursday, and officers investigating the incident are keen to establish exactly what happened, having already spoken to the car driver.
A police spokesperson said: 'We have definitely not spoken to the 49-year-old male', while police sources told the Daily Mirror the accident was still unexplained and 'far from cut and dried', with motoring experts saying it would be 'very, very difficult' to fall out of the vehicle, which was travelling at around 70mph (112kmh).
Autocar Magazine columnist Colin Goodwin said: 'It has a huge side impact bar running through the middle, and electronic motors and equipment for the windows and locking system, which means it takes real effort to open it.'
George is still in hospital following the accident as a precautionary measure.
His spokesperson said: 'Following the traffic accident on Thursday, we can confirm that he is still in hospital. We are keen to stress it's purely as a precaution for observation. He did suffer a couple of bumps and bruises to the head and that's why they are keeping him in - to keep an eye on him. He is doing better. He is making good progress and is looking forward to getting out.'
George's past battles with drug abuse and depression are well documented, so fingers crossed it really was just a freak accident and there isn't more to the tale than that.
