In recent days, a photo of Jet Li has been doing the rounds which shows the action movie star looking pretty frail and gaunt.

It was snapped in Tibet by a fan who asked Li to pose for a photo, and has left many people shocked and concerned for the Chinese actor, who has starred in the likes of Hero, Kiss of the Dragon, Lethal Weapon 4 and the Expendables movies.

The photo was captioned: "So, apparently, Jet Li is suffering from 'hyperthyroidism and spinal problems' and this is him now."

However, according to the 55-year-old actor's manager, the photo was taken out of context, although he confirmed that Li has been battling 'non-life threatening' hyperthyroidism for the past ten years. He told USA Today: "We appreciate everyone's concern. But Jet is completely fine. There's nothing wrong with him. There's no life-threatening illness. He's in great shape.... It's one picture and people are making these interpretations from it. If you took a picture me at the wrong angle and wrong time of the day, I could look frail as well."
