It's been an extremely mixed start to 2018 for James Franco.
On one hand, he won a Golden Globe for his work on 'The Disaster Artist'; on the other, the numerous allegations relating to sexual misconduct that have been levelled against him have undeniably affected his career.
A prime example of the latter is the below cover of the new issue of Vanity Fair. Their 'Hollywood' issue, shot by Annie Leibovitz, features 12 of the biggest actors and actresses on the planet - from Robert De Niro to Oprah Winfrey to Tom Hanks to Nicole Kidman - and Franco originally featured on it, too. A spokesperson for the magazine confirmed: "We made a decision not to include James Franco on the Hollywood cover once we learned of the misconduct allegations against him."
In such photoshoots, stars are often shot in smaller groups and then digitally combined for the spread, so it didn't mean the whole thing had to be re-done - but it is somewhat unusual to make such an alteration so close to publication.
Franco has not commented on the matter as yet.
