Kate Beckinsale is the latest Hollywood star to share her experience with movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.
The Underworld actress released a statement detailing the first time that she met Weinstein, when she was 17, and was called to meet him at the Savoy Hotel.
"He opened the door in his bathrobe," she said. "I was incredibly naive and young and it did not cross my mind that this older, unattractive man would expect me to have any sexual interest in him. After declining alcohol and announcing that I had school in the morning I left, uneasy but unscathed."
She went on to reveal that years later, Weinstein had asked her "if he had tried anything with me in that first meeting. I realized he couldn't remember if he had assaulted me or not."
She also claimed that he had, over the years, called her a "c*nt" and threatened her, and that a male friend of hers who had warned another young actress off him based on Beckinsale's experience had been blackballed by Miramax.
