Niall Horan has opened up about the time he and his bandmates in One Direction were kicked out a hotel by Donald Trump himself.

The story first emerged back in March when 1D member Liam Payne told Rollacoster Magazine that they were thrown out of Trump's hotel in New York because when asked to meet Trump's daughter Tiffany, they refused.

Horan, who discussed the incident on The Late Late Show with James Corden, now appears to have confirmed the story.

“We were playing Madison Square Garden,” he explains, “and we were basically doing no meet and greets because it was such a big show. It was the biggest show of our career.

“So [Trump] said ‘Could you take a photo with my lawyer’s daughter?’ and we were like ‘She’s going to come down and make a big hullabaloo’ so we said ‘No, no, the show is in lockdown.’ He said ‘You’re not allowed use the garage door anymore, you’re going to have to stand in the front steps and promote the hotel’ so we just left.”

Corden and the other guests on his show, Orlando Bloom and Cate Blanchett, subsequently sounded off about what happened.
