This is obviously Madonna inching closer to officially getting back with ex-husband Sean Penn (the man who once hit her over the head with a baseball bat. He didn't have a caveman club to hand). That's just idle gossip, mind.

The 55-year-old Girl Gone Wild, who recently returned to New York City from a charity trip to Haiti with Penn (just sayin'), reportedly ended her three-year relationship with the backup dancer, Brahim Zaibat, after he signed up for the French version of Dancing With The Stars.

A source told PerezHilton.com: "M thought that was too cheesy." So, really, their relationship was always built to last.

Another insider explained that the courtship ran its course due to long distance and work obligations, but said Madonna was left feeling "used" and insisted there was "no chance" of them reuniting in the future. Now, before the accusations of agism start flying, history dictates that generally couples of wildly varying ages do sometimes have ulterior motives other than pure love. Unless your Harold and Maud, or Joan Collins and her fella.

Back to Madonna and Sean's impending reunification (again, idle gossip). She took 13-year-old Rocco - her son of former spouse Guy Ritchie - to tour Haiti with the Oscar-winning actor last month to look at the work done by his Haitian Relief Organisation. That's all.

The trip came shortly after the Milk star went to see Madonna's concert in Los Angeles in October. A witness said: "Their chemistry was off the charts. Madonna seemed to be performing entirely for Sean. And he was saying things like 'amazing' and 'she's so hot'."

Here is Sean and Madonna enjoying some happier times in Tennessee back in '85. Some folk just never learn.
