Two men were being held last night over a suspected plot to rob and, as if that wasn't enough, then murder singer Joss Stone. Police found swords, a body bag and rope when they arrested the pair near her country home. The men, aged 33 and 30, also had aerial photographs and maps of her property. It is thought that the men were arrested on suspicion of planning a raid on the 24-year-old, who is worth *slack jaw* £9million.
Their "plan" is understood to have been thwarted by neighbours who saw two men acting suspiciously in a red Fiat Punto. The vehicle was being driven around the lanes of Cullompton, east Devon, where she lives. Stone, who is friends with Prince William and Kate Middleton, was not at the premises yesterday - highlighting how astute her stalkers are.
According to Sky News, who are no doubt loving this story, Detective Inspector Steve Parker said: "The men had information and items that lead us to suspect they may have intended to commit a criminal offence."
Surely he should've said "serious criminal offence", no? Perhaps DI Parker's not a fan either.
