That or he could be fined $250,000, which naturally he'd prefer to pay if it means avoiding prison. He'd be very popular in prison, what with being an A-list star 'n all.

Things kicked off a couple of weeks back when it came to Australian custom's attention that Depp and effectively smuggled his two terriers Pistol and Boo into the country on his private jet, as he's currently shooting the latest instalment of the apparently limitless Pirates of the Caribbean franchise there. Depp had brought the dogs to get groomed, which resulted in the pictures being plastered all over twitter.
According to People Magazine: "The Australian Minister for Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, then threatened to have the Yorkies euthanised unless they were flown out of the country within 50 hours." Or to quote Barnaby, "It’s time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States."
As it happens, the dogs were quietly put on a flight home. But it seems the drama doesn't end there...
