As you can see, we've had to use an almost identical photos to the one used in the article announcing their split last night, thus proving just how "privately" they've managed to conduct their 'conscious coupling' the last ten years.

As for their 'conscious uncoupling', if only all splits could be as amicable as theirs. It's not every couple that jets off on a last hurrah holiday in Eleuthera and gifts each other works of art depicting a soaring bird in the wake of their split. It actually makes us feel a little sad, like - seriously, can you guys not just sort it out, you seem made for each other. You both agreed the name Apple was a goer for starters.

A source told the Mail Online: "Chris has even given Gwyneth a present to mark this new stage, a painting of a bird in flight by Mila Furstova. It's beautiful." Furstova is also just happens to be responsible for the artwork for the band's sixth studio album Ghost Stories (plug, plug, plug).

News of Gwyneth and Chris ending their 10-year marriage came as they're on vacation on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, reports LaineyGossip. They are hoping to "enjoy being friends" and want Apple and Moses to know that they're still a family.

The source added: "Going away together may seem unusual but that's Gwyneth and Chris. Foremost they want the kids to see they mean business about remaining a family, and another... they want to miss the fallout. It might sound like a line that they're happier than they've ever been but the relief is massive, they can enjoy being friends again now. It's like all the tensions have finally dispersed, the stress of arguing where about where to live. She missed Los Angeles and he's an English boy through and through so that seemed like an eternal battle. They're communicating again, they're having a glass of wine together and a laugh and were actually looking forward to the holiday."

It's the Bahamas, who wouldn't be looking forward to it in this weather.
