When it comes to relationships, celebrities are just like us as they break up, make up, and work their way through the treacherous field that is love and marriage.
While the sun has set on the #romance goals that was Anna Faris and Chris Pratt’s relationship (we know it was back in August, but we’re still not totally over it), there are still plenty of celeb couples out there who give us hope through their compassionate, loving and supportive bond with one another.
Emily Blunt & John Krasinski
The stars of The Office and The Young Victoria started dating ten years ago and have been married for eight. Parents to daughters Hazel and Violet, each one says of the other that they ‘changed their life.’ Krasinski will soon co-star opposite Blunt in A Quiet Place, which he is also directing. Now that’s supporting your hubby.
Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher
Adorably, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher started off as friends with benefits (much like the title of Kunis’ 2011 rom com and Kutcher’s movie No Strings Attached) until the former That '70s Show co-stars realised they meant more to one another. The couple have been married since 2015 and have two children together.
Beyonce & Jay Z
Married for the last ten years, but an item for close to twenty, Jay-Z admitted last November that he had been unfaithful to Beyonce in the past (“The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself”). Still, the couple work hard to make their marriage work. They are parents to Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir.
Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds
It can’t be easy being married to the smart aleck Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds but Blake Lively manages him effortlessly. The couple, who met on the set of Green Lantern in 2010, started dating the following year, and married a year after that, are a great source of entertainment when they troll one another on social media.
Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka
It was rumoured that actor David Burtka landed a part on How I Met Your Mother due to his relationship with Neil Patrick Harris but the couple simply shook off the haters. They had fraternal twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace via a surrogate mother in 2010 and married a year later when same-sex marriage was legalised. They’d been engaged for five years – aww!
David & Victoria Beckham
Love them or hate them, the football legend and former Spice Girl turned fashion designer have made it work. Married for nineteen years with four kids, the two have made a fortune over the years and are definitely a power couple you wouldn’t want to mess with.
Sarah Michelle Gellar & Freddie Prinze Junior
Another 90s couple who have kept it going strong to this day are actors Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. They met while filming I Know What You Did Last Summer and after Freddie saw Sarah stuff her face at dinner, he knew they were meant to be. They’ve been married for fifteen years.
Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi
Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and Arrested Development star Portia de Rossi have been married for ten years and are no less goo-goo eyed for one another than they were when they started dating in 2004. Ellen has said of Portia: "It's the first time that I've known in every cell of my being that I'm with somebody for the rest of my life."
Will & Jada Pinkett Smith
Last December, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith celebrated their twentieth anniversary and the actors’ relationship has been truly inspirational. While promoting her latest movie Girls Trip last year, Jada said their relationship is “unconventional” and was realistic about the work involved in marriage, saying “people have to be married in a way that works. As couples, we really do have to see what is best for us.”
Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell
Like most of us, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell had their ups and downs when it came to relationships, but since they found each other, they haven’t let go. The couple have been dating since 1983 after meeting on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, and never got married, which is really refreshing to see.
