It's been rumoured for years but now Carrie Fisher has confirmed it. She had an affair with Harrison Ford on the set of Star Wars.
Fisher has kept the affair secret for over forty years but is reportedly revealing all in her upcoming book, The Princess Diarist. She revealed in an excerpt published in People that she had the affair with Ford on the set of A New Hope in 1976 when she was 19 and Ford, who was married with two children at the time, was 33.
“I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him,” she says. “He was kind.”
Fisher revealed that the affair, which lasted three months was "so intense"
“It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend,” she says.
The affair began at a birthday party for Star Wars creator, George Lucas.
“I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow,” she writes. “How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?”
Harrison Ford was reportedly sent an early draft of the book and was aware that the affair would be discussed.
Fisher has since tweeted about the excerpts published in People, stating that they were taken out of context.

I would never talk about how someone was in any furniture--chair, bed, coffee table or otherwise
