People could argue that Brian McFadden earned his money during TV3's Toy Show. First he had to wear that suit made entirely from wrapping paper which still managed to sever him in two. He did the robot alongside a child and an actual robot. He kept Jedward somewhat contained. He donned a Superman onesie which probably created a river of sweat in a certain secret ravine. He cracked a few jokes and generally seemed enthused to be there.
Ah hang on, he got €5,000 for 90 minutes airtime?! Ah, Jaysis, Brian... That's probably a fraction of what Peppa Pig charged. OK, she was a bit directionless, and only made the one appearance (*hics*), but she's an international star!
According to The Independent, Brian's accountant - who's based in the UK - sent this fee for the gig to the station's news team instead of the financial department. Woopsie. A TV3 source said: "It is disappointing that this confidential information has been leaked into the public domain."
Previously, Brian had been ingratiating himself to his public by taking the piss out of community radio presenters.
