Amanda Bynes has been forcibly hospitalised in California after starting a fire in a random person's driveway last night.
TMZ is reporting that Bynes was found near a home in Thousand Oaks, California where the local fire department were responding to a small blaze in a driveway. Law enforcement sources are saying that the sheriff's department was called when Amanda was found standing around the small campfire she's alleged to have started, and when they arrived and questioned Bynes about what was going on and what she was up to, she was so wack-a-doodle they determined that she needed to be hospitalised for medical evaluation.
According to the elderly woman whose house it was, cops asked her 'Do you know anyone by the name of Amanda Bynes, or why she would have some vendetta against you?', which she didn't, and the police then told her the woman spotted in her driveway had lit a fire and was carrying a 'little red gas tank', as well as burning parts of her own clothing.
Just for a bit of reference, a 5150 hold was what Britney Spears was brought into hospital under when she finally started getting treatment for her mental breakdown in 2008. Under a 5150 hold, the law and medical services can hold Bynes for up to 72 hours.
Bynes had an earlier encounter with the police the previous evening in the same area after she got into a fight with a taxi driver because she didn't have any money.
Amanda had been trying to get into a retirement community where, according to the taxi driver, she was going to visit someone, but she was turned away because staff thought she was drunk and accused her of trespassing and called the cops once they saw the fight between Bynes and the taxi driver.
