Amanda Bynes, continuing her long and downward spiral as a former child star, has been arrested for drug possession.
Bynes was taken into custody by police last night, who visited her New York City apartment after responding to a call for a disorderly person, and she was booked for criminal possession of marijuana, as well as reckless endangerment and felony tampering with evidence for, according to website TMZ, attempting to throw a bong out of her apartment windows.
Police were initially called after a building official saw Amanda in the lobby with a marijuana-laced cigarette, and she was reportedly behaving erratically and talking to herself. She is said to have gone 'ballistic' during the arrest, yelling: 'Don't you know who I am?' Before being booked at the police station, she was taken to hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
27-year-old Bynes was expected to spend the night in Manhattan central booking and appear in court today. It's now just one in a string of charges she's knocked up since falling off the wagon and displaying increasingly bizarre behaviour. She's currently on three years probation for driving with a suspended license, which she was given after making a plea deal earlier this month. She also has a DUI case pending in Beverly Hills.
In December, Amanda - who has worried friends and family with her recent antics - settled two hit-and-run cases after reaching a civil compromise with her victims, saving herself from a potential 12 months in prison.
Along with her legal troubles, she was involved in two further bizarre episodes in September 2012, locking herself in a store changing room for nearly two hours and refusing to come out and stripping off during a gym class.
