He may be gone, but DJ and producer Avicii is certainly not being forgotten by his friends and peers in the music industry.
The Chainsmokers and Halsey paid emotional tribute to the Swedish musician, who died at the age of 28 last month, at last night's Billboard Music Awards.
Before presenting the award for the Top Hot 100 Song, The Chainsmokers took to the stage with Halsey, saying: "His passing was a great loss for the music world and for us. He was an artist who inspired so many in so many ways and simply put he meant so much to us and so many in the EDM community", and later dedicating their award for Top Dance/Electronic act to him.
Halsey added: "Everyone who worked with him would agree he was such a joy and it makes this tragedy all the more painful. And it’s a reminder to all of us to be there and to support and love all of our friends and family members who may be struggling with mental health issues.”
Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, was also included in the In Memoriam section of the evening.
