David Bowie's son Duncan Jones made headlines earlier this month when he surreptitiously tweeted his bafflement at Lady Gaga's tribute to his late father at the Grammys. In short, it seemed that he wasn't impressed.

After Lorde took the stage in London at last night's BRIT Awards to do the same thing, however, Jones has given her the thumbs-up.

Introduced by actor Gary Oldman - who accepted the 'Icon' award on behalf of Bowie - the 19-year-old Kiwi star covered 'Life on Mars' with Bowie's backing band. It generally went down well with both the audience and critics, but especially movie director Jones:
