The R&B has received a pretty cutting review of his work from the unlikeliest of sources.
Usher's son Nayvid Ely Raymod, who has yet to reach his sixth birthday, has already developed a rather critical eye it seems, particularly when it comes to his dad's music.
Speaking to Billboard, Usher said: "He doesn't care about what I do as much... He's like, 'I'm the star. Who are you? You sing?"
"He told me the other day, he says, 'You're not a great singer.' What?! I'm a great singer".
Usher maintains that it's a different situation when his son sees him perform live, though.
"When seeing me perform on tour in the past... and most of the time it's past his bedtime, but he's just sitting there studying every move, every second, like laser focus. And then I'll see him off by himself doing the moves."
Those Raymonds, they're straight shooters.
