Ticketmaster has revealed that tickets for U2's forthcoming run of Irish dates in Dublin and Belfast will only be sold online, not in person.
There will be no in-person sales via the ticket agent - so don't bother packing your sleeping bags and flasks of tea to queue before they go on sale next Monday morning.
The only exception to buying tickets in person will be from the box office at the 3Arena and the SSE Arena in Belfast.
The reason for the online-only sales is because of a risk to public safety. The Irish Times reports that an email sent by the company to its vendors nationwide read: "In the interest of public safety, your safety and that of your nearby businesses, it has been decided that it would be unwise to have the public queue in the streets for this reduced number of tickets.”
What's more, the tickets will only be available in 'print at home' format - i.e. having them emailed to you - rather than being posted out, in a bid to combat re-selling.
