The biggest pop star on the planet right now has been in this corner of the globe for the last week or two on her '1989' World Tour, and tonight Taylor Swift plays the first of two sold-out gigs at Dublin's 3Arena.
By this stage of her career, Swift has amassed a loyal fanbase who'll travel near and far to see her - but one fan was disappointed at the weekend when she arrived in London too late for her gig at Hyde Park on Saturday.
South African radio DJ Stephanie Be said she had saved for 9 years to travel to Europe to see her idol, but a series of delays to her flight from Amsterdam meant that she was in danger of missing the gig.
She documented her adventure in a series of increasingly despairing tweets:
There's nothing like flying halfway across the world to see @taylorswift13 & then @British_Airways delaying the flight so I miss it 😡

Now our @British_Airways flight is delayed even longer. And they won't put me on another flight! Now I'm REALLY going to miss @taylorswift13

As the hours ticked by, it became clear that she wasn't going to make the gig, which she'd waited a long time to see:
Hey @British_Airways we are being told nothing here. I am genuinely going to miss this concert. I have spent SO much money. Waited 9yrs!

Never mind. Disregard last tweet, the new plane I'm on is delayed now too. So that means I'll almost definitely miss @taylorswift13. Done.

She eventually arrived at Hyde Park in time to see the last three songs, but missed most of the gig.
HOWEVER…. although Stephanie missed Saturday's gig in London, there was hope on the horizon in the form of a blonde-haired angel by the name of T-Swift...
@StephanieBe I'm really sorry you missed it but if you can get to Dublin I'll buy you tickets! Sorry to hear about the travel nightmare. :(

Stephanie was due to fly back to South Africa yesterday, but judging by her most recent tweet, she made it to Dublin - although she still hasn't heard directly about tickets. Fingers crossed!
In Dublin! Even the staff at @thegibsonhotel are rooting for me. Swifties are the best & they're everywhere 😘 pic.twitter.com/g6BmJXoFfr

Sort her out, Swifty!
