Earlier this year, Seo Linn, the Irish language band, called upon fans to help them source €50,000 in 30 days to pursue their dreams with Irish music.
Cathal Ó Ruaidh, Keith O’Briain, Daithí Ó Ruaidh, Kev Shortall, Conor O’Móra and Stiofan O’Feareal have successfully hit that goal, and in record time, and the money raised will now be used to help them produce an album and bring the Irish language and culture overseas.
Focusing all their energy on the Irish language, the band are going to make Seo Linn their full time job with thanks to the huge support from fans and supporters, starting by providing music workshops for teenagers through the medium of Irish.
Lead singer with Seo Linn, Stiofán commented on the news saying "We're overwhelmed with the generosity of the public and I don't think we can fully express how thankful we are but I guess now we've a lot of rewards to get working on in return for the donations! We've really enjoyed the past two years but now we're really looking forward to the next challenge and are extremely thankful to the public for making that happen for us".
