He promised that he would Get Rich or Die Tryin' and while he made good on the first part of that album's claim, he's now filing for bankruptcy.
The famous rap star and Vitamin Water drinker, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Hartford, Connecticut today.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Jackson's reported debts and assets are in the $10 million to $50 million range, while this filing from his legal team comes just days after a court ordered that he pay $5 million in damages in a case related to a sex tape.
A claim had been made against the rapper that stated that he got his hands on someone else's sex tape, added his own comments and then posted it online, which lead to the invasion-of-privacy lawsuit by Lastonia Leviston.
In light of the news, Twitter has been reacting accordingly and informing him that he may now need to take out his grandmother's trash now.
Happy Birthday, 50 Cent. May you never have to take out the trash for your grandma again. pic.twitter.com/S9jwmCWtxV
