Nile Rodgers - the frontman of Chic, producer extraordinaire and all-round bona fide musical genius - went busking in London this morning.
Rodgers, who played London last night with Chic, posted several pictures of himself playing electric guitar with a small amp on London's South Bank, saying that he used to busk when he was a penniless, homeless musician. The gig was a special stunt, however, to promote new Sky Arts show Guitar Star.
However, he said that nobody noticed him as he started off playing bossa nova music - until he began to play well-known Chic songs like 'Freak Out!', when a crowd began to gather. He even sang Madonna's 'Like a Virgin', a record that he produced in the 1980s.
Chic play Dublin's Iveagh Gardens on July 9th - what are the chances of him doing a quick set on Grafton Street? You never know…
Today I went busking on the #London Southbank. Didn't draw much of a crowd until I stared playing dance music. Hmm? pic.twitter.com/N89XINfgfD

Though I had no voice from screaming during last night's show, I started to draw a crowd when I sang "Aw Freak Out!" pic.twitter.com/k4R6XjMsFe

And in case you're wondering, according to Sky News, he made £12.30 - enough to buy himself a 'nice breakfast', in any case.
Hey Ana! I can afford a nice breakfast now. https://t.co/WFKXl6e7Lt
