So we all know by this stage that Garth's concerts aren't going ahead, but what about all those people who had travel plans made and hotels booked to come to Dublin for the gigs? Not to worry, there are still plenty of country music-themed activities for you to enjoy.
In the wake of the Garth cancellations earlier this week, people around the country and all over the world are beginning to think about the process of getting their money back and cancelling all their travel plans. Not so fast, however, as the Department of Tourism and Fáilte Ireland are going to announce a whole series of events for Brooks fans who still want to have a bit of craic.
Orla Carroll of Fáilte Ireland told The Irish Times that while the shows might be off, there is still plenty to see and do in Dublin, and encouraged visitors who had planned to travel to the capital or who were coming from abroad to still make their trip. Between themselves and the Tourism Department however, they've come up with a number of events for those people who had booked accommodation, and they'll announce the full line-up tomorrow morning at 11am.
There haven't been too many details given out, but Carroll added that with an estimated 70,000 people coming from overseas to the concerts, the events would still attract country music fans and be great fun for all concerned.
Fáilte Ireland are working to put on some free music events, as well as to showcase what else Dublin has to offer, but added that we could rest assured it would be "a bit of a hoedown". We're ready for it anyway.
