Beyonce and Miley Cyrus among those who'll have to make some extra space on their mantelpiece this year, while Ed Sheeran and Katy Perry were also big winners.
The MTV Video Music Awards celebrated their 30th anniversary last night. Back in 1984 Dan Aykroyd and Bette Midler were the hosts and the big winners were The Cars, David Bowie and Cyndi Lauper. This time around, a significant number of the winners weren't even alive for the awards' inception - nor have some of them seen Bette Midler's magnum opus 'Beaches'. For shame.
Anyway, this being 2014, the major awards were - somewhat expectedly - handed out to the biggest stars in today's pop stratosphere like Ed Sheeran, Katy Perry and, of course, her majesty Miley Cyrus.
