Session guitarist Pascal Humbert is not exactly a household name, so he didn't really have to adopt a pseudonym for this collection of solo pieces recorded over the last 15 years. Still, the virtuoso playing on offer here shows why Humbert has worked with artists as diverse as PJ Harvey and John Parish. Stylistically the pieces range from ambient droning to regimental marches, taking in some technically brilliant performances along the way. It has to be said that most of it will pass casual listeners by, but fans of mournful American soundtracks will find Humbert's labour of love a useful addition to their collection.
