Remember we told you that Kurt Cobain's cardigan that he wore on Nirvana's MTV Unplugged performance was going up for auction?
Well, the auction was held in Los Angeles on Saturday, and although the item was expected to fetch between $40,000 (€36,000) and $60,000 (€54,000), it eventually sold for way more.
in fact, the tatty old cardie - which was missing a button and was partially burnt - sold for a whopping $140,800 (€130,700). The buyer was not revealed, but it was either a company with a lot of money or a Nirvana superfan, in any case.
Other items at the auction included John Lennon's acoustic guitar - on which he wrote 'Love Me Do' - which sold for $2.4 million (€2.2 million), a pair of his iconic round glasses ($25,600/€23,700), Elvis's gold leaf piano ($610,000/€566,400) and a painting by Frank Sinatra ($28,125/€26,100).
