Has Jimi Tenor gone too far? For his third album, the Finnish techno-pop maestro has taken the unusual step of hiring a 60-piece Warsaw orchestra along with a full choir. But there's method in his madness as he serves up a heady brew of Indian sitars, Polish fiddlers and electronic beats, creating a dazzling range of cinematic soundscapes. Out go the graphic lyrics of his previous records to be replaced by some impressively daring, layered instrumentals. Commercial it ain't, but for sheer audacity and ambition this album puts Tenor way out in front of his peers.
