Johnny Marr will publish his autobiography next year.
Marr follows in the footsteps of his former Smiths bandmate Morrissey, who released his own autobiography - entitled, errr, 'Autobiography' - in 2013.
Unlike Moz, however, Marr's tome won't be a Penguin Classic imprint; Century have won the rights to publication after a 'hotly-contested auction.'
There had been plenty of speculation on whether the guitar hero's own memoirs would be published, after he had expressed an interest in recent years. "For the past few years as I've been out on tour promoting my solo work fans and journalists have been asking me when I'll write my book," he said in a statement. "I'm very happy to say that the time has come to tell my story."
Since leaving The Smiths in 1987, Marr has worked with a huge number of acts, including Electronic, Pet Shop Boys, The Pretenders, Neil Finn, Modest Mouse, The Cribs and he even put in an appearance on Noel Gallagher's recent album.
In recent years, he has pursued a successful solo career, releasing 'The Messenger' in 2013 and 'Playland' last year.
