Elvis Presley is still revered as the ultimate rock 'n' roll icon - but these days, apart from half a dozen or so old standards, his music is surprisingly rarely played on radio. A whole new generation needs to be reminded of just how many classic records he made and a singles compilation makes good sense, given that most of his albums were Christmas cash-ins or movie soundtracks full of second-rate material. This timely new collection is as good a place to start as any; as well as being great value for money it does a fine job of tracing The King's career from the early country-tinged rockers to his final, weary blow-outs. Remember him this way.
