The MTV European Music Awards take place in Milan on October 25th, and Ed Sheeran has just been announced as the host of this year's ceremony.
The singer isn't the first person that comes to mind in such matters, but he is one of the biggest male stars on the planet at the moment, after all. And if Ronan Keating can do it (as he did in Dublin in 1999), surely anyone can.
Sheeran made the announcement on Twitter not long ago, and also revealed that he will be joined as host by a surprise guest, who has yet to be announced.
His BFF Taylor Swift leads the nominations at this year's EMAs, while the full list can be seen here.

Update: And his co-host has been revealed as the one and only Ruby Rose. Not the most likely of duos but we're sure they'll manage it.
