Rapper Smoke Dawg, who toured with Drake throughout Europe, was shot dead outside a nightclub in Toronto in the early hours of Sunday morning.
In an Instagram post, Drake said that he wished "peace would wash over our city," and posted a picture of he and Smoke Dawg on stage. The rapper, whose real name was Jahvante Smart, was 21 years old and was one of three people shot at the unnamed club in Toronto.

Another rapper, Koba Prime, was also shot and died from his injuries whilst an unnamed woman is expected to recover. "Jahvante touched the lives of many fans not only in Toronto but around the world," a statement from the slain rapper's family read. "Music was able to let him travel the world and chase his dream of becoming a super star."
Smoke Dawg's death comes only weeks after the death of rapper XXXTentacion, who was shot in an armed robbery in Florida.
