If you're wondering why Eminem's been a bit quiet recently, this album provides the answer: he's been busy hanging out with his posse. D12 are Slim Shady's support group, a motley crew of rappers and minders who help to bolster the pasty-faced one's fragile ego. Unfortunately Devil's Night makes it all too clear where the real talent lies in this relationship. Most of the album is lazy gangsta music by numbers, full of ugly, boring rapping and boastful rants about such fascinating subjects as pimping and drug-taking. Enimem's own contributions provide some respite from the mediocrity but they're too few and far between to save the day.
