Chris Brown has been forced to cancel his upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand after he was denied a visa by the former.
Brown's tour had been the subject of a protest as far back as September, when it was revealed that a radio station had withdrawn its sponsorship of the tour and a petition was signed by thousands who objected to his track record for domestic violence. Even the country's Minister for Women commented, saying "People need to understand if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world, there are going to be countries that say to you: 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia. This is a government that is not afraid to say 'no.'
Now, it has been revealed that the rapper/singer has indeed been denied entry to Australia, with the promoter for the One Hell of a Nite tour - due to kick off in Perth on December 9th - releasing a statement saying:
"Chris Brown's December 2015 tour in both Australia and New Zealand will not take place. Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future."
Brown has also been refused entry to Canada because of 'immigration issues' in the recent past.
