No doubt she will be the first of many given approximately a bajillion people were nominated yesterday.
Zooey Deschanel thinks that being nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award is an "incredible honour". Which is what you'd expect her to say.
The 32-year-old star of TV show New Girl - which airs on Fox in the United States, Channel 4 in the UK, and RTE2 here - was named as a contender for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series yesterday.
She told Entertainment Weekly: "I wanted to be an actress since I was two years old ('cause we all remember being 2, right?). It's always been my dream and ambition. This is the kind of moment you dream about. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I could have this incredible honour and recognition. It's just so exciting."
Her costar Max Greenfield also received a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Zooey added: "I have such a great job that's just such an incredible gift, and I always want to be doing the work because I love the work and not for some other reason. [But] it just means so much to have this nomination."
She shared her glee on Twitter with fellow Outstanding Lead Actress nominee, Lena Dunham, posting "So excited for the #Emmys! @lenadunham - what are our nails going to wear?!!!"
So excited "ABOUT" the #Emmys", Zooey. "About."
