Move over Lloyd Grossman and David Frost, there's a new Through The Keyhole host in town, and it's Leigh 'Keith Lemon' Francis.
The Celebrity Juice host is to front a brand new revival of the classic quiz, which first aired during TV-am back in the 1980s. For those who don't remember the show, it basically invites guests to guess which 'sleb owns they house they're poking around in via video.
"When I was a young lad all I wanted to be when I grew up was the boyfriend of Patsy Kensit, Kylie Minogue, or Belinda Carlisle. Be part of the A-Team, go back t' future or be the host of 'Through t' Key Hole'. Well one of those dreams has come true!" Francis, in full Lemon mode, said. "Not only am I the host of Keyhole, I'll be going round t' houses like Loyd Grossman but with better shoes. I honestly can't wait! I think this is what’s gonna meck Patsy go out with me! Oooosh!"
Long-time fans of the show might balk at the idea of a Lemon takeover, but it seems that Frost and Grossman are more than happy to let the artist formerly known as Avid Merrion continue their legacy."I am delighted that the Keyhole format is now entering its fourth decade on TV. I know the pilot show went down very well with the studio audience and I wish Keith and his team the very best of luck for the series." Frost said.
"Keith has definitely put a new spin on a very well-established, much-loved format. He has given Through the Keyhole a contemporary twist, but preserved the spirit and intention of the original programme. The series has contemporary entertainment values, whilst still retaining the parts we all loved of the original - namely the fascinating insights into people’s lives!", Grossman added.
We won't see the show hitting TV screens for a while now, but come autumn we can expect six hour-long episodes on ITV. In the meantime, here's some classic Key Hole to get you in the mood. All together now: Who lives in a house like this?
