The sci-fi series returns this June
We all know by now that nothing in this world is as perfect as it seems.
The future is looking far from bright in the 'Westworld' season four trailer, released overnight by HBO Max.
The sci-fi series, which hits Sky and NOW on this side of the Atlantic this June, was a runaway success during its first two seasons when it was set mostly in an amusement park for humans, featuring extremely life-like and life-threatening robots. However, interest began to wane during season three when the focus shifted to outside the park. Will this new season tease back some of us who fell off the 'Westworld' wagon?
Back on the scene for this fresh dystopian return will be the all-star cast of Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, Thandiwe Newton, Tessa Thompson and Aaron Paul. There's not much to go on for this new season with pretty much everything to do with the season currently under wraps; no other new cast members have been revealed just yet either.
That being said, the Emmy-winning drama series has teased this brief synopsis for this next outing: "'Westworld' continues its dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth."
Here's the 'Westworld' season four trailer, set to Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day'.
This new season will consist of eight brand new episodes.
In 2021, co-creator Lisa Joy told Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast that in this new season we will see: "Some new worlds that I think are really fun and you’re going to see someone who I kidnapped from 'Reminiscence' (the Hugh Jackman movie) in a funny way."
Is Jackman about to make a cameo appearance?
'Westworld' season four begins on Sky Atlantic and NOW this June. With the US premiere date on HBO Max June 26, Ireland and the UK will have new episodes from Monday, June 27.
